Self-motivated students with a passion for the environment thrive at AEI. Students travel throughout the U.S. and various bioregions of the world with a close-knit group of faculty and peers that form an independent learning community. They experience the natural environment as their classroom and directly engage with local ecologies, cultures, and economies. Students explore fjords, coral reefs, ancient forests, barrier islands, desert canyons, Pacific Rim volcanoes, and alpine valleys.
